Rebekah Whittaker joined the faculty as a Labor Educator in August, 2022 and is based in our Eugene office. She holds a BA in Ethnic Studies and an MA in Education from the University of Oregon. Rebekah has been active in Oregon’s labor movement for almost twenty years. She spent ten years as an organizer with SEIU Local 503, including serving as the Chief Negotiator and Statewide Field Coordinator for the union’s child care and nursing home division. In this position, she led multiple organizing and contract campaigns, in both the public and private sectors, and supervised a team of internal organizers. For the past 7 years, Rebekah served as a 4th grade teacher in the Eugene 4J school district and an activist with the Eugene Education Association. She resides in Eugene with her family and is a proud Duck!
