This 5-day intensive bargaining training is designed for union staff and rank-and-file bargaining team members in both the public and private sectors.

• Contract costing
• Research for leverage
• Developing and managing your team
• Writing and presenting proposals
• The psychology of negotiations
• Finding a settlement

The 2024 Collective Bargaining Institute will be held at University Place Hotel and Conference Center in downtown Portland.

CBI registration is $1,250 per person, and we have negotiated a special conference rate of $88 plus taxes at the University Place Hotel.

Although participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodations, we strongly encourage everyone to stay onsite at the University Place Hotel. Given the large amount of group work—including regular evening meetings—being onsite is the best way for participants to disconnect from their day-to-day union responsibilities and make the most of this in-depth learning experience.

The program culminates in a 4-hour mock bargaining session that is video-taped and de-briefed with team members and your faculty advisor.
