Joe Lowndes and Danny HoSang, Professors in Political Science and Ethnic Studies, will discuss how ideas of “race” get reworked in different times – how poor and working-class white workers are now described in terms previously used for the African American poor.

All lectures will be held at the ERB Memorial Union, Miller Room on the University of Oregon campus. The talks will also be presented via video teleconference at the White Stag Building in Portland.

Larissa Petrucci, PhD student in Sociology, talked about organizing by women and non-gender binary employees in high tech.

January 24th, 2017 • 4 – 5 pm
Geoff Kennedy, Instructor in Political Science and International Relations, discussed Greece’s financial crisis: how labor law was changed, wages lowered, and unions attacked.
